China generated 466.0 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of power in November, rising 0.1 percent from the same month last year, the country’s statistics bureau said on Saturday.

Total output for the first eleven months of the year reached 5.13 trillion kWh, up 0.1 percent compared to the same period last year, the National Bureau of Statistics said.

Thermal power output stood at 353.2 billion kWh for November, down 1.5 percent, compared to a 3.0 percent increase in hydropower volumes, which hit 77.6 billion kWh.

Power generation growth has fallen this year as a result of an economic slowdown that has hit key energy-intensive industries like steel and aluminium.

Total power consumption fell 0.2 percent on year to 449.1 billion kWh in October, dropping for the second consecutive month, the country’s energy regulator said in November.
