Yetunde Bajela-Taiwo returns to Seplat

One time General Manager, Planning NAPIMS, the investment arm of NNPC Nigeria, former Head, Planning and Economics at Seplat, Yetunde Bajela-Taiwo is now the Head of Gas Business at Seplat to oversee the development of one of the fastest growing domestic gas businesses in Nigeria. It’s NPDC/Seplat Joint Venture, which the latter operates, and currently the third largest supplier of gas to the domestic market, after the NNPC/Chevron JV and the NPDC/NDWestern JV.

With the company’s unprecedented growth even as its gas production capacity expands from 300Million standard cubic feet per day to 525MMscf/d, Taiwo will not only oversee the business grow but also ensures it grows with speed. “The gas business will pull in a third of our overall revenue”, Austin Avuru, Seplat’s Chief Executive Officer was quoted to have said. According to Avuru, Bajela-Taiwo was released to NNPC “to help them strengthen the corporation’s capacity. Mr. Avuru was also quoted to have expressed delight: “But when they asked her to leave, I wondered if they really were keen on retaining talent. I simply asked her to come back”.
