Harvest Progressing Gabon Development

Harvest Natural Resources has seen a significant amount of success in Gabon over the past year or so and that success has led to some milestones toward development over the past few months.

The company saw its four discoveries in the Ruche cluster determined as commercial in March with a Declaration of Commerciality being signed in June between the partners and Gabon’s Director General of Hydrocarbons (DGH).

More recently the company was awarded an 850.5 sq km Exclusive Exploitation Authorization (EEA) for the development and exploitation of certain oil discoveries on the Dussafu Block. Subsequently on July 18 Harvest and its partners submitted the field development plan for the Ruche cluster to the DGH.

The company continued processing the 3D survey acquired in Q4 2013, which provides the first 3D coverage over the outboard portion of the block.  The new 3D seismic data should also enhance the placement of future development wells in the Ruche and Tortue development program. The pre-salt is currently the focus of deep water exploration activity offshore Gabon, and seven new exploration licenses close to Dussafu were awarded by Gabon on August 8, 2014.  The new 3D seismic data should also enhance the placement of development wells in the Ruche and Tortue development program and the development of numerous undrilled structures identified within the EEA.
