Mel Shah has been appointed as Vice President of its Energy Sector, Asia.
Shah according to a press statement to Energy Window International is expected to grow the company’s energy events in Asia, which currently include Bangkok’s Future Energy Asia, the Gas Asia Summit held in Singapore and Jakarta’s Gas Indonesia Summit. Adding that development in South East Asia will further boost the company’s portfolio of global energy events, which already includes two of the world’s largest oil and gas shows – Gastech and ADIPEC
The statement noted that ADIPEC event in Abu Dhabi alone in November 2019 saw more than 145,000 attendees from 159 countries.
“Mel has a deep understanding of operating successful entrepreneurial ventures in Asia and India,” said Christopher Hudson, President of dmg events. “The addition of his expertise and senior leadership experience to our energy portfolio in South East Asia will help us capitalize on the opportunities this region offers our growing business.”
The statement said Shah’s two decades of experience spanned the energy, digital, manufacturing, food and hospitality sectors in Asia. Maintaining that previous roles have seen him develop business units for organizations such as Montgomery Exhibitions, Fiera Milano, Deutsche Messe, Messe Frankfurt India and Informa. He equally has had successful entrepreneurial ventures building his own trade fair operations, the report pointed out.
While maintaining that Shah was set to take over a strong portfolio of energy events that already enjoy ministerial patronage and support from each of their host nations also said that governments’ support was truly underpinned by the involvement of dmg events’ global key accounts, stakeholders and partners. Adding that Shah will develop these existing events further with the help of his ambitious and diverse team in Singapore. He also expected look towards building new launch businesses in Asia to consolidate dmg events’ position in this fast-growing region.
