Seplat Energy Plc, a leading Nigerian energy company with listing on both the Nigerian and London Stock Exchange Commissions, says it is delighted to announce that the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has confirmed that consent has been granted by the minister of Petroleum Resources in Nigeria, to proceed with the acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (‘MPNU’) (“the Transaction”).

While expressing delight on the approval, the Company said it has the obligation to commend the “support and diligence of the various Ministries and regulators for all the work on this Transaction.”

Adding that further announcements will be made as and when appropriate, in line with regulatory requirements.

The approval is coming two years or more since its announcement in February 2022.
