Eni Mexico has announced renewal of its six-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of the State of Tabasco to establish and enhance a cooperation framework focused on the pillars of education, access to clean energy, employment and economic diversification, community health, environmental sustainability, water and sanitation, safety, and a culture of peace. The objective is to strengthen the well-being of communities near its areas of operation in Sánchez Magallanes plus the municipality of Cárdenas.
Eni recalls that since 2019 when the partnership was first signed into operation, it has never failed in its commitment to push for a just energy transition, through effective cooperation and coordination with the Government of Tabasco and local communities to promote sustainable and inclusive solutions that generate social value. “We have in the last six years therefore successfully implemented various projects in local communities, achieving significant progress in education and culture, economic diversification, and life on land,” Eni said.
“Eni Mexico firmly believes in the importance of long-term partnerships with Authorities and communities leveraging on a sustainable development. This MoU reaffirms commitment to being a trusted partner to the well-being of neighboring communities and the protection of the environment.”
Eni said it has been present in Mexico since 2006, established its wholly owned subsidiary, Eni México S. de R.L. de C.V. in 2015, and serving as the main foreign operator in Mexico, with interests in seven exploration and production blocks (six of which as Operator), all located in the Southeastern Basin of the Gulf of Mexico, Eni has told Energy Window International (Media) in an email.
